This eight-month graduate certificate program blends academic theory with practical experience to prepare you for an exciting career in both public and private sector policing and investigations. You'll develop specialized skills to handle the complex demands of investigative work and law enforcement. Seneca's Advanced Investigation and Enforcement program employs hybrid and online learning methods throughout its curriculum, offering adaptable, student-centered education while emphasizing the professional competencies required for careers in both public and private investigations. Upon finishing your first semester, you may request a training completion number, qualifying you to take the provincial licensing exam for private investigators (exam fees apply). The program also includes a Firearms Safety course that makes you eligible to apply for a Canadian Firearms License.
Ontario university/college degree, college diploma, advanced diploma or equivalent
Applicants with a combination of partial postsecondary and/or three years relevant work experience that is the equivalent of the above may be considered. A relevant resume and references must be provided.
