This intensive one-year Social Service Worker program equips you with crucial knowledge and skills for careers in human services. During this rigorous program, you'll critically reflect on your personal values in relation to the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers' ethical guidelines and professional standards.
Grounded in principles of equity, social justice, and anti-oppression, the curriculum focuses on practical intervention strategies and empowerment-based methods to assist vulnerable groups and communities facing trauma and challenging circumstances.
Eligibility for this accelerated program requires either an undergraduate degree with relevant coursework or an advanced college diploma in a closely related field. Preference is given to applicants holding a bachelor's degree in social sciences or comparable undergraduate qualifications. The program features a condensed seven-week summer term beginning in May, followed by a traditional academic year commencing the Tuesday after Labor Day and ending in mid-April.
