This two-year diploma program teaches you to use building systems software while mastering current theories and practices in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, air handling, electrical systems, and controls. The curriculum emphasizes energy efficiency principles, including studies of cutting-edge renewable energy technologies that form a significant part of the program. Qualified students may participate in optional work terms within professional settings, lasting about as long as an academic semester with potential for full-time paid or unpaid positions. Note that programs with fewer work opportunities might require extra academic criteria and successful completion of a communication evaluation. While meeting eligibility standards doesn't ensure placement, all participants in the optional work term track must pay additional fees, regardless of whether they secure a position.
