Therapeutic recreation aims to enhance clients' overall well-being, enabling them to live as autonomously and meaningfully as possible. These specialized leisure interventions target specific objectives across physical, mental, social, intellectual, spiritual, and/or environmental aspects. Throughout the curriculum, you'll develop fundamental competencies in therapeutic recreation principles while studying complementary disciplines including health sciences, leisure studies, psychology, and research methodologies. The program's culminating years emphasize practical learning, deepening your skills in program implementation and modifications - valuable assets when serving varied communities and environments.
