Our comprehensive program covers every facet of ski resort management, offering a distinctive combination of leadership training and specialized industry insights to prepare you for long-term management roles. The curriculum includes transferable business and tourism courses accepted by BC colleges and universities, plus exclusive industry-specific content unavailable elsewhere.
Our Ski Resort Operations and Management Program undergoes yearly evaluation by a committee of top ski industry professionals to guarantee up-to-date content and ensure graduates possess the most relevant, practical skills.
This program accelerates graduates' advancement into supervisory and management roles. Students gain extensive hands-on experience through direct engagement with all operational areas, both indoors and outdoors. Industry immersion occurs through organized field trips that connect students with resort managers and supervisors.
Field experiences allow students to observe resort operations firsthand. During resort visits, students network directly with industry leaders, opening doors to work-term placements and post-graduation employment. Alumni regularly return to share their career success stories in the ski industry.
Selkirk College's Admission Requirements:
Have graduated from a BC Senior Secondary School or equivalent, or
Be 19 years of age or over at the time of application, or
Be under 19 years of age but have a written recommendation from your Secondary School Principal
SROAM Academic Requirements
Any English course at the grade 12 level with a minimum of 67%. For international applicants, IELTS 6.5 overall band score (with no band less than 6.0), or equivalent on other internationally recognized English Language Proficiency Tests. If an international student applies with an IELTS of 6.0 overall score (with no band less than 5.5), then they would need to meet the requirements below.
Applicants who lack the specific English admission requirements may still gain admission to the program with the understanding that they will complete ENGL 66 Essential English with a minimum of 67% in the first year of their program. This course must be completed to be able to advance beyond 30 program credits.
