The curriculum emphasizes real-world applications, covering environmental technology computer systems, ecosystem preservation, species identification and conservation, park and leisure administration, avalanche safety, and wilderness orientation. Our immersive outdoor setting offers meaningful opportunities to develop crucial competencies in wilderness recreation and wildlife conservation while receiving hands-on instruction in environmental computing, ecological stewardship, species management, park operations, snow safety protocols, and off-trail exploration techniques.
Selkirk's prerequisites require that you:
Have graduated from a BC Senior Secondary School or equivalent, or
Be 19 years of age or over at the time of application
Successful completion of these high-school or equivalent courses:
Foundations of Mathematics 11 with a minimum of 67% or higher
Biology 11 with a minimum of 67% or higher
English Studies 12 with a minimum of 67% or higher
Submission of a TOEFL score of IBT 80 or better; or
Submission of an IELTS score of 6.0 with no individual band less than 5.5 or better; or
Submission of an acceptable score on the Language Proficiency Index score of 4 or better.
