Our program holds national accreditation from Technology Accreditation Canada. Graduates qualify to register as forest technologists with Forest Professionals British Columbia. For over five decades, the Forest Technology Program has been supplying the forestry sector with highly trained professionals. This program serves as the perfect launchpad for those passionate about tackling the dual challenges of working in British Columbia's wilderness while developing innovative approaches to contemporary forest management problems. We focus on preparing graduates with immediately applicable skills for careers in both private sector and government roles.

Over half of the instructional time involves hands-on fieldwork, allowing students to work on actual projects while networking with industry experts and mastering current forestry technologies used by employers. The curriculum also focuses on cutting-edge technologies like mobile data gathering, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and GPS (Global Positioning Systems) implementations. Our alumni gain significant advantages from this training, as government agencies, industries, and local communities increasingly recognize the value of improved forest stewardship.
