This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate program focuses on addressing economic, environmental, and social challenges affecting communities. Participants will gain specialized skills and knowledge in sustainable business and community development through a combination of theoretical learning and practical fieldwork, emphasizing contemporary requirements and emerging trends in sustainability. The curriculum provides practical approaches for fostering cooperation, open communication, ecological conservation, and responsible resource management while examining the social, environmental, and economic impacts of transformation across diverse communities. Learners will formulate approaches to improve environmental wellness factors, tackling obstacles encountered when building sustainable societies. Program graduates find employment opportunities with government agencies at all levels, technology and office equipment producers, academic institutions, research centers, advisory companies, environmental groups, or may choose entrepreneurial paths.

Qualification Requirements

Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, Degree or equivalent.

Results must be from within two years of the start of the program and must meet the following minimum requirements:

TOEFL score of 88 for the Internet-based Test (iBT) and no test below 21

IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0

Cambridge English Exam C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a Cambridge Score of 176 or more with no single test score below 169

PTE Academic 60

Duolingo 115

CAEL overall band score of 70 and no part below 60

Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 8 for all areas: reading, writing, speaking, listening

Application Deadlines:

To be considered on an equal basis for programs beginning in the fall, your application must be received no later than February 1.

After February 1, applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, provided there are still vacancies in the program(s) of your choice.

For programs beginning in January, the equal consideration deadline is October 1.
