Engineering Design and Drafting Technologists contribute to diverse engineering initiatives across multiple fields. In this fast-paced position, professionals utilize leading software tools to work together, create, model, illustrate, organize, and record projects spanning various sectors including construction, mining, and industrial production.
The Engineering Design & Drafting Technology program provides a comprehensive three-year diploma available through full-time study at Saskatchewan Polytechnic's Moose Jaw location. The curriculum consists of five classroom terms complemented by three Co-operative Education work placements.
Hands-on training involves working with modern CAD applications to develop engineering projects in both 2D and 3D formats. Students undertake a significant BIM Technology project that combines civil engineering, mechanical piping systems, and structural design elements while implementing project management principles and completing a practical research capstone.
