The Linguistics Certificate offers fundamental knowledge in linguistics to enhance studies in connected areas like language education, anthropology, sociology, business, and computer science. This 30-credit program is mainly tailored for individuals who already possess a degree in any field.
Enrollment in the certificate program necessitates submitting a formal application. Undergraduate students pursuing the certificate alongside their degree must secure official authorization from the Linguistics Coordinator. Linguistics majors at Saint Mary's University cannot enroll in this program. At least half (15) of the required 30 credits must be earned at Saint Mary's University.

Qualification Requirements
Students are required to have completed the equivalent of grade 12 level university preparatory English and 4 other university preparatory courses. The overall average should be equivalent to at least 70 percent with no individual grade below 60 percent.
Students may be admitted if they have completed the IB Diploma with a total score of 24 points and a minimum grade of 3 in required courses.

Cambridge B2 First C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency minimum score of 176 with no individual score below 169.

Pearson PTE score of 58 or better.
