Political science is an engaging and diverse discipline that explores various governance systems and how nations are administered. You'll examine political institutions, social equity, fundamental freedoms, gender parity, peace and security, global progress, ecological balance, and beyond.
Our political science program is compact, student-centered, and vibrant. We provide classes on pressing modern topics along with numerous scholarship and study abroad options, creating a fulfilling educational journey.
Political Science majors have earned academic credit by attending the Model UN conference in New York, joined exchange programs with Norway, Hong Kong, Finland, France, Mexico, Japan, and Uganda, and served as legislative assistants at the Nova Scotia Legislature during their studies.
Our scholars have also contributed at the Halifax International Security Forum, attended talks by a lawyer from Omar Khadr's defense team, and won numerous honors, including the William J. Dalton Political Science Prize and the distinguished Homburg Mobility Scholarship.
