The Queen's Master of Industrial Relations (MIR) is an intensive on-campus graduate program designed to be completed within 10-12 months. This professional degree equips students for successful careers in labor relations, HR management, policy research, or as consultants and educators in the LRHR field.
Launched in 1983, Queen's MIR has grown into the premier graduate program in industrial relations. Its alumni network of over 1,000 professionals has made substantial impacts across various industries, influencing workplace practices in both Canadian and international organizations spanning private and public sectors.
Student must have 4-year bachelor’s degree in programs such as commerce, business administration, psychology, sociology, political science, health care, education, kinesiology, public administration; Minimum upper second-class standing and demonstrated evidence of strong academic potential. We consider your grades over the last two years.
English language requirements
Applicants must have TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT): The minimum overall score is 88, made up of the minimum scores in each component test as follows: Writing test: 24/30; Speaking test: 22/30; Reading test: 22/30; Listening test: 20/30; MELAB: 80 (minimum overall score); IELTS: 7 (minimum score, academic module); PTE Academic: 65 (minimum overall score).
