The MASc program is a research-focused degree designed to deepen expertise in a specific field while cultivating essential research capabilities. This two-year curriculum allows students to collaborate closely with distinguished engineering faculty, honing analytical and problem-solving abilities that are highly valued in modern industries.
To graduate, students must complete four graduate-level term courses, conduct original research, and submit a thesis. These courses must meet FEAS Graduate Council standards, meaning they should be full-term graduate courses or their approved equivalents. The Council permits one senior-level (400 series) undergraduate course to count toward this requirement if:
a) the student's advisor approves the course selection and
b) the student hasn't previously completed comparable coursework during their undergraduate studies.
Student must have 4-year Bachelor’s degree with a standing in the mid B range (70% graduating average or a ranking in the top third of the graduating class where number grades are not available).
