The Queen's Juris Doctor/Master of Public Administration (JD/MPA) is a three-and-a-half-year dual degree program. This program is ideal for those looking to merge expertise in policy analysis and management with legal training to effectively develop and implement policies. The School of Policy Studies is renowned for its graduate-level policy education, particularly in health policy, global governance, social policy, and public policy within the nonprofit, community-based, and NGO sectors.
Admission to this joint program is competitive, with limited spots available. Applicants must apply separately for the JD through OLSAS and for the graduate degree via the School of Graduate Studies. Students accepted into and completing an International Law Program at the Bader International Study Centre during their first year's spring term may finish the combined degrees in three years. The Career Development Office supports students in securing summer placements, while licensing and articling processes occur post-graduation.
Competitive MPA/J.D. applicants must have completed a Bachelor’s honours degree, with an A- average or 3.7 GPA in the last two years and an LSAT score above the 80th percentile.
