Politics revolves around power dynamics – examining who wields influence and how it's utilized by nations, individuals, organizations, social classes, or political factions, along with how conflicting interests are mediated within and across communities. The field of political science explores governing structures, civic practices like electoral participation or demonstrations, and the formation of societal norms, conduct, and traditions. Given that societal power frequently correlates with economic resources, scholars analyze wealth distribution both domestically and globally. At Queen's University, learners enhance their argumentation abilities through the Model Parliament program while engaging with global concerns via the Model UN and International Affairs Association. The political education at Queen's transcends traditional academic settings. Participants refine their discourse techniques in the Model Parliament simulation; they tackle worldwide challenges through the Model United Nations or in collaboration with the International Affairs Association. Queen's political studies reach far beyond lecture halls.
