The Master's in Information Technology Security stands as a pioneering program in Canada and remains among the rare specialized graduate degrees in IT security globally.
This professional graduate program, the Master of Information Technology Security (MITS), equips students for careers in the rapidly growing IT security field. It employs a project-based approach, allowing participants to implement course concepts through real-world projects during the program's advanced stages.
As one of Canada's inaugural offerings and a scarce global specialization, the MITS program combines theoretical knowledge with practical application. Students gain comprehensive insights into business and IT security, refine their communication abilities, and explore ethical considerations in team-based settings.
To fulfill its educational goals and enrich student learning, the program emphasizes hands-on skill development. The Faculty of Business and Information Technology supports this through its Hacker Research Lab, which supplements MITS coursework. This secure facility features diverse network configurations, equipment, and wireless devices, creating an isolated space for students to conduct security-related projects and experiments.
