The Materials Science PhD program is a collaborative initiative between Ontario Tech University and Trent University. Faculty members from both institutions deliver courses through in-person teaching, enhanced by remote lectures and research meetings.
This joint PhD program in Materials Science combines resources from Ontario Tech University and Trent University. Instruction is provided by professors from both schools, featuring traditional classroom learning supplemented with distance-based collaborative lectures and research sessions. This is enabled through cutting-edge videoconferencing tools (AccessGrid), facilitated by both universities' participation in the SHARCNET high-performance computing network.
The PhD program in Materials Science aims to: cultivate students' grasp of interdisciplinary materials research with a focus on fundamental science, involve students in practical materials investigation, equip students with scientific communication abilities, and ready them for careers in academia or industry.
