The Therapist Assistant Diploma equips graduates to support Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Recreational Therapists in their work. This comprehensive two-year program consists of four academic semesters combined with 18 weeks of hands-on clinical training. Students will learn foundational principles, theories, and practical skills at the Assistant level across three therapeutic disciplines: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Recreation Therapy. The curriculum provides both theoretical knowledge and practical training in health and rehabilitation sciences, along with introductory university courses in English, Biology, and Psychology. Developed through collaboration with therapists, assistants, and employers across the province, the program aligns with current national and provincial standards and the expanding role of Therapist Assistants. Graduates will contribute to enhancing lives by assisting with rehabilitation programs under professional supervision, learning to design movement regimens, demonstrate treatment methods, and facilitate therapeutic recreational activities.
