The Contemporary Art, Design and New Media Art Histories (CADN) program fosters scholarly exploration of modern and emerging cultural works. This cross-disciplinary curriculum enables you to examine and produce original research on present-day artistic concerns, utilizing theoretical approaches, historical backgrounds, and creative influences that inform today's visual discourse and cultural exchanges.

Within the CADN program, you will:

enroll in diverse courses covering foundational art history theories and methodologies, plus electives available through OCAD University's six additional graduate programs
analyze modern and recent cultural works with particular attention to colonial impacts and through the lens of non-Western perspectives
participate in international study opportunities and credit-bearing internships
