Begin your journey toward becoming an Aircraft Maintenance Technician through Northern Lights College's Aircraft Mechanic Basics certificate program. Develop valuable career skills in this dynamic field during our one-year training. While this certificate doesn't offer Transport Canada accreditation, it may satisfy requirements within the Canadian aviation sector.

Graduates of the certificate program can advance their education by pursuing the Transport Canada Accredited Aircraft Maintenance Technician Diploma, which counts 1800 hours toward an AME License. To qualify for this pathway, students must maintain 95% attendance or better, with no more than 45.5 hours of missed instruction.

The curriculum covers aircraft safety protocols, hangar risks, airframe construction, engine mechanics, and aircraft systems. Students will gain expertise in reading technical documents and schematics, removing faulty components, installing replacement parts, and conducting system tests.
