Northern's Human Resources program prepares you for leadership positions in staffing, employee relations, performance management, and beyond.
The first year covers essential Business Fundamentals, while the second year delves into attracting, retaining, and motivating top talent.
You'll explore labor relations law, human rights legislation, and workplace safety standards. The curriculum teaches strategic recruitment to align with organizational objectives and prepares you for collective bargaining negotiations.
Throughout the program, you'll enhance your communication skills, IT proficiency, and persuasive techniques while designing leadership-focused training programs that foster teamwork.
This program fulfills all nine HRPA Ontario core course requirements for the CHRP designation. To qualify, graduates must achieve at least 65% in each HRPA-mandated course with a 70% overall average.
To be eligible you must possess the equivalent of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
Proof of Senior High School Diploma/Certificate with an equivalent Grade 12 Mathematics (50% min.) and/or Business/Commerce stream.
English Proficiency (we will require one of the following): IELTS Academic International English Language Testing System: minimum overall score of 6.0 must be achieved with no individual band score under 6.0; however, we will accept one band at 5.5; TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) – Computer-based overall minimum score of 79; PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic – Graduate Diploma: 58+.
