Students in the Environmental Monitoring & Assessment program examine how human actions affect air, water, soil, and plant life while developing essential skills in environmental sampling, evaluation, and laboratory techniques. The curriculum covers environmental quality monitoring, quality assurance/control practices, waste management, and land restoration methods. Career paths include performing environmental site evaluations, gathering samples from various sources (water, air, soil, waste), and conducting pollutant analysis in laboratories. Graduates collaborate with industries, consulting firms, and government agencies on remediation projects and environmental research. The initial semester focuses on building foundational knowledge in biology, chemistry, communication, ethics, plant/animal sciences, genetics, and laboratory methods.

The program incorporates practical experience through Work Integrated Learning (WIL), which combines academic coursework with hands-on professional training. This WIL component takes the form of a Cooperative Education placement.
