The Narrative Cinema Production specialization provides practical, immersive training that transforms you from learning film theory to becoming an actual filmmaker and innovative entrepreneur. DMIT's Digital Cinema curriculum readies you for the artistic, technical, and commercial dimensions of the booming digital film sector while connecting you with professional networks and experts who can help jumpstart your career.

Our comprehensive, industry-aligned courses guide you in discovering unique narratives and mastering the complete production process - from concept development and scripting to budgeting, filming, and post-production. Throughout all four program levels, you'll receive guidance from accomplished industry veterans.

For future producers, digital creators, and technical specialists, the Digital Cinema track strongly emphasizes the commercial aspects of screen production. You'll craft your own transmedia project while formulating a comprehensive business strategy covering funding, talent acquisition, and all production stages. Successful completion of the following 3 courses through NAIT Open Studies with an overall minimum GPA of 2.0:

DMIT1001 - Communications for Digital Media and IT
COMP1017 - Web Design Fundamentals I
ORGB1500 - Organizational Behaviour for Digital Media and IT
Note: These courses are generally offered in the evenings for Open Studies students.

OR

5 credits of Advanced Level Computer Sciences or Advanced Level Design Studies or Advanced Level Communication Technology courses taken within the Career and Technology Studies (CTS) program

OR

Applicants who, prior to September 2019, completed any three NAIT Digital Media & IT courses successfully with a minimum combined GPA of at least 2.0, may use those courses to satisfy the current entrance requirements.

IELTS Academic - Overall 6.0 with 6.0 in each section
TOEFL iBT - Overall 80 with 20 in each section
Duolingo - 115 overall score, with a minimum score of 100 in each section
