This accredited program offers comprehensive training to equip you with the skills needed for crafting complete or partial dentures, as well as repairing crowns, bridges, and orthodontic devices. You'll master both the artistic and technical aspects of designing dental prosthetics for natural teeth and oral tissues.
Dental technologists are skilled artisans and vital contributors to dental healthcare teams. Success in this field demands precision, technical expertise, and creative ability. The curriculum teaches you to replicate natural tooth aesthetics in permanent restorations like crowns and implants using porcelain, metal alloys, and ceramics. For orthodontic devices, you'll study the biomechanics of working with waxes, wires, and acrylic materials.
Each student receives a dedicated workstation in our modern dental lab, featuring state-of-the-art equipment including: ceramic pressing furnaces, digital scanners, acrylic injection systems, and thermal-forming machines. After completing the first year, students undertake a 4-week Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement at partnered clinical sites, applying their knowledge under professional supervision. These clinical rotations enhance technical skills, critical thinking, and professional conduct while delivering quality patient care through laboratory services. All training shifts occur on weekdays.
