NAIT's one-year Dental Assisting certificate program equips you with essential knowledge and practical skills for immediate employment in dental practices. You'll master infection control protocols, chairside procedures across all specialties, patient care techniques, and practice management - preparing you to become a vital part of any dental healthcare team.

Our comprehensive program develops the professional competencies needed for a rewarding dental assisting career. We combine hands-on training with solid theoretical foundations, using modern dental technologies and techniques. Key program features include: A 38-week intensive schedule with two 15-week semesters and an 8-week intersession. Small class sizes ensure personalized attention through optimal instructor-to-student ratios. Practical learning occurs in our state-of-the-art labs and through clinical placements, where students treat both classmates and community patients in our fully operational on-campus dental clinic.

Grade 12 Biology or Science (Biology 30 or Science 30)

Applicants who meet the minimum entrance requirements and have one of the following may be given special consideration for the interview shortlist if they have:

A prior NAIT Health and Life Sciences credentials, or
Successfully completed at least one approved Open Studies course in the School of Health and Life Sciences with a minimum of 75%

IELTS Academic - Overall 6.0 with 6.0 in each section
TOEFL iBT - Overall 80 with 20 in each section
Duolingo - 115 overall score, with a minimum score of 100 in each section
