NAIT's Academic Upgrading program serves as a preparatory route for adult learners from diverse educational backgrounds to obtain the necessary prerequisites for post-secondary career programs. After admission, students can customize their learning by selecting specific courses they need to upgrade.
Graduates of our Academic Upgrading program qualify for conditional admission to NAIT credit programs, provided all other entry criteria are successfully met.
NAIT's upgrading courses fulfill admission requirements for both NAIT career programs and other Alberta post-secondary institutions. These courses are available across three terms, offering scheduling flexibility. While most classes are daytime, evening and online alternatives exist to accommodate personal and work schedules. Students can opt for either fully online synchronous instruction or traditional in-person classes, both taught by instructors.
Fall Term: September through mid-December (15 weeks total). Options include on-campus day/evening classes or online synchronous delivery.
Winter Term: January through April (15 weeks total). Available in on-campus day/evening formats or online synchronous delivery.
Spring Term: May through July (accelerated 12-week term). Offered as on-campus day classes or online synchronous delivery only.
