This foundational program teaches you to create, assemble, refine, and restore premium wooden items including cabinetry, furnishings, and fittings. You'll gain level 1 technical training credits and accumulate work-based training hours applicable toward your Interprovincial (Red Seal) certification upon apprenticeship registration. Graduates will be equipped for careers in millwork, furniture craftsmanship, cabinet construction, marine woodworking, home finishing carpentry, sales, or as independent craft professionals.

C in English 10 or equivalent or successful English assessment
C in Math 10 or equivalent or successful Math assessment
Or successful completion of FSK 030 if the above requirements are not met.
High school graduation is preferred provided the applicant meets or exceeds the stated prerequisite
An applicant must have graduated from secondary school, or equivalent, or be a minimum of 18 years of age or older within the calendar year in which they are applying to study and must also meet the program admission requirements.
The Office of the Registrar will provide an alternative application process for students who are both under the age of 18 and not a secondary school graduate within the calendar year in which they are applying to study.
Proof of permission to study in Canada as an international student
BC Curriculum - English 12 or BC English First Peoples 12 with a minimum grade of C (or C plus: see program pages). IELTS - overall score of 6.0, no band lower than 6.0, TOEFL iBT - 80 overall with no subsection less than 20. TOEFL pBT 550.
