The Master of Science in Kinesiology (MSc) is a research-focused graduate program where students gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge facilities alongside distinguished faculty. The curriculum covers diverse subjects within health and movement sciences, including biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor control, health promotion, coaching methodologies, and sports psychology. Students choose this program to collaborate closely with expert faculty members in specialized research areas.
This MSc program follows a mentorship approach, providing clear research funding details during the application process and dedicated guidance throughout the program. Graduates develop skills for advanced academic pursuits (like PhD programs) and diverse professional paths in healthcare, rehabilitation, sports management, education, public policy, and corporate wellness sectors.
As a rigorous thesis-driven program, the MSc in Kinesiology requires full-time students to finish within 2 years (6 terms), while part-time students have a 4-year (12-term) completion timeline from their start date.
Applicants must hold an Honours BA in Kinesiology, a related field (e.g., Physical and Health Education; Human Kinetics; Kinesiology) or equivalent and at least a 70% average on the last ten full (20 semester) courses completed at the time of application to be considered for admission. Applicants with a three-year undergraduate degree from Europe or other international countries will be considered for admission based on equivalency criteria as determined by the Office of the Registrar.
The following are the minimum ELP requirements for admission to the School of Graduate Studies; in addition, each program will have minimum language requirements specific to the program:
TOEFL iBT, with a minimum overall score of 93, and a minimum score of 20 in reading and listening and a minimum score of 22 in speaking and writing, or
IELTS, with an overall score of no less than 6.5 and a minimum of 6.5 in reading, listening and speaking and a minimum score of 6.0 in writing, or
Pearson Test (PTE Academic), with a minimum overall score of 63 with a minimum score of 60 in each subsection
