The Religions and Cultures program delves into the diverse spiritual traditions across our interconnected world and examines how religious beliefs influence individuals and societies. Throughout history, religious concepts have toppled regimes and fueled international disputes, yet they've also motivated extraordinary acts of compassion and altruism. This program examines principal world religions alongside the impact of spiritual beliefs on various aspects of culture, including governance, creative expression, mass media, and contemporary trends. Our curriculum explores religion's connections to diverse topics such as the Supernatural, Conflict, Peace Movements, Alternative Spiritual Groups, Identity Studies, Ecology, Governance, Secularism, Mortality Concepts, Animal Ethics, and Moral Philosophy among others.
Degree candidates enrolled in Concurrent Education who successfully finish their Nipissing Honours program, including mandatory Concurrent Education coursework, by April's conclusion will advance to the fifth and sixth years of their Bachelor of Education professional training. Completion of all required undergraduate courses and teaching specialization prerequisites must be finalized by May 1 of the intended transition year into the BEd program's fifth year.
