The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Data Science is an undergraduate program that equips students with the mathematical and computational foundations needed for a career as a data scientist. This program exposes you to real-world applications of data science across various fields. To earn the degree, students complete coursework alongside hands-on learning experiences like research projects, practicums, and internships.
Whether your passion lies in precision medicine, environmental datasets, business analytics, or complex systems analysis, you'll master computational and mathematical techniques for working with data.
The curriculum encompasses machine learning, data science technologies, and analytics, alongside core computer science and mathematics courses including data structures, AI, neural networks, and statistics. This comprehensive program addresses every stage of the data science pipeline: collection, storage, processing, analysis, and visualization.
Our programs place significant emphasis on undergraduate research. Honours Specialization students must complete either a third-year practicum plus a fourth-year research course or two fourth-year research courses.
Practicum courses provide work-integrated learning through internships or applied university projects. Additional experiential learning occurs through course-based projects, presentations, case studies, and problem-solving exercises.

Qualification Requirements
Official transcripts from all institutions (domestic or international) previously or presently attended, secondary schools, colleges and universities (Domestic and international applicants who have attended postsecondary institutions outside of North America must have their transcripts assessed.
International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with at least six subjects, including three at a higher level, with a minimum final grade of 24, will be considered for admission. Students who successfully complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with a score of 24 or higher are eligible to receive up to 30 transfer credits, equivalent to one year of full-time study.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum score of 83 (iBT) with a minimum score of 20 in reading, listening and writing, and a minimum score of 22 in speaking.
International English Language Test Service (IELTS) : Applicants to all programs except Nursing require a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with a minimum 6 in reading, listening, speaking and writing.
