Sociology—the examination of human societies—introduces you to an incredibly diverse field. You'll investigate how sociological factors shape various aspects including family dynamics, professional environments, educational systems, healthcare, population studies, and legal institutions. To illustrate this variety: our faculty research subjects spanning from psychological challenges among elderly inmates to birth control practices in Iran, to end-of-life care.
Earning a Sociology degree equips you with versatile skills applicable to numerous professions. Potential career paths include social work, criminal justice, population analysis, or behavioral science, among others.
You could also pursue advanced studies through a Master's or PhD program, or enter professional fields like education or legal practice. Notably, one of our alumni currently serves as a Supreme Court Justice.
