The Behavioral Neuroscience research team investigates how brain activity and structure influence behavior, with a particular emphasis on exploring connections between behavioral shifts and alterations in limbic system structure and function (limbic plasticity).
Current research focuses include: studying PTSD's neural mechanisms through predator stress animal models; regulating brainstem startle response pathways; examining activity-based anorexia in rodents; hippocampal physiological changes associated with learning; effects of sex hormones on brain development and behavior; and neural foundations of spatial learning and memory.
