The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University provides graduate programs focused on thesis research, awarding Master of Engineering (MEng) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Electrical Engineering.
Students specializing in computer and electrical engineering can utilize diverse engineering software for various applications, including mathematical computations (MAPLE and MATLAB), circuit simulation (SPICE, PSPICE, electronics workbench), chip design (Synopsys, Cadence, Xilinx), and software development (Rational Rose, Visual Paradigm, Microsoft tools). Dedicated research spaces include the INCA Centre, Computer Engineering Research Labs (encompassing digital hardware, software engineering, multimedia communications, and VLSI design facilities), along with the AWCRL and Power Systems Laboratory. Collaborative research resources from industry and government partners are also accessible.
Typically completed in two years, the MEng program mandates four courses, a seminar, and a thesis.
