The remarkably diverse literary works - including poetry, plays, novels, and essays - from this expansive region form the core of this academic focus. Studies examining the province's creative talents, communities, institutions, and social developments demonstrate our faculty's wide-ranging, cross-disciplinary engagement. Our scholarly work and curriculum at both bachelor's and master's levels naturally align with key research priorities involving Indigenous Communities, Northern and Arctic Studies, and Cultural Expression. The University's Centre for Newfoundland Studies, an unparalleled national resource within our library system, provides essential support.
