Statistics focuses on analyzing data across diverse disciplines such as biology, economics, finance, engineering, environmental science, and medicine, utilizing mathematical methods and probability theory for drawing conclusions. It also serves as valuable foundational knowledge for nearly all academic pursuits, providing excellent training in logical thinking.
Our department hires undergraduate students to work in the Math Help Center and grade assignments. Selected students may secure summer research positions supported by the National Science and Engineering Research Council.
We provide major, minor, and honors programs resulting in either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in statistics. Combined degree options include:
biology-statistics (B.Sc. honors)
computer science-statistics (B.Sc. major and honors)
economics-statistics (B.Sc. major)
economics-statistics (B.Sc. major with co-op in economics)
pure mathematics-statistics (B.Sc. honors)
