Health Physics is a multidisciplinary field that connects medicine, biology, engineering, and physical sciences. It delivers scientific approaches and radiation protection expertise to healthcare, nuclear industries, and regulatory agencies. The program offers a course- and project-based Master of Science degree. Students collaborate with faculty, conducting research at McMaster's radiation facilities or industrial partner sites. Many participants already work in Health Physics professionally and complete the program part-time.

Brachytherapy isotopes, interface dosimetry, imaging radiation distributions, neutron micro-dosimetry;
Nuclear and atomic analysis techniques for trace elements and body composition studies;
Innovative radiopharmaceutical development and medical applications of radioisotopes;
Non-invasive imaging techniques for bone and joint structure analysis;
Magnetic Resonance Imaging technology;
DNA damage and repair mechanisms in cancer development;
Adaptive responses, genomic instability, and bystander effects in radiation risk evaluation;
Light and laser applications in tissue for therapy and characterization;
Muscle function studies and repair/regeneration processes;
Radiation exposure assessment methods;
Optimization techniques for advanced radiation therapy and dosimetry approaches.
Student must have: Honours Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; B+ (B- for Engineering) minimum average, based on a full year equivalent of final year courses (3rd/4th level) relevant to the program.
