Our Indigenous Studies curriculum immerses students in the profound wisdom and diverse cultures of Indigenous peoples. As one of Canada's rare programs catering equally to Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners, we offer unique opportunities to examine the intellectual heritage of various First Nations, particularly focusing on southern Ontario's Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe communities. Participants will deepen their appreciation for Indigenous worldviews, spirituality, and socio-political realities.
Through interdisciplinary exploration and hands-on learning experiences, students cultivate cultural competency while acquiring practical skills for professional engagement with both reserve and urban Indigenous communities. Our innovative pedagogical approaches combine academic rigor with experiential education to foster meaningful understanding.
