Covering everything from legal protocols and workflows to effective communication and legal documentation preparation, the Paralegal Studies program equips you with fundamental skills to launch your legal career. This adaptable program accommodates both full-time and part-time learners. Upon completion, graduates may pursue entry into MacEwan's Bachelor of Commerce program. The core paralegal curriculum encompasses legal ethics, law office operations, organizational skills, client interaction, and collaborative abilities to ready you for legal environments.
Throughout this program, you'll concentrate on essential legal disciplines including property transactions, creditor/debtor regulations, civil lawsuits, business dealings, corporate protocols, and administrative law procedures. Additionally, you can tailor your education by specializing in criminal law, family law, or estate planning.
Applicants must have a minimum overall average of 65 percent, with no course grade lower than 50 percent, in the following high school courses:
ELA 30-1
Mathematics 30-1 or Mathematics 30-2
Three subjects from Group A, B, C or D courses
Applicants must be 20 years of age or older and have been out of full-time high school at least one year by the beginning of the intake term.

Applicants with nine or more post-secondary level credits must also present a minimum admission grade point average (AGPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must present a minimum of 24 post-secondary credits with a minimum Admission Grade Point Average (AGPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale and must have completed the required core courses listed under the Regular or Mature admission category.
