Prepare for an exciting career in the dynamic automotive industry by developing skills applicable to various motive power professions, including heavy equipment, small engine, marine, power sports, truck and coach, and agricultural technology. This hybrid program launches in the Fall semester. Professionals in motive power trades require specialized knowledge, diagnostic expertise, and business management capabilities. Earn a one-year certificate to pursue roles in parts and counter service, or complete the two-year diploma for technical positions and small business management training. Graduates find opportunities with dealerships, manufacturers, repair shops, parts suppliers, retailers, insurance firms, and automotive production facilities, performing tasks ranging from repairs and sales to customer service, parts management, warranty processing, supervision, and insurance assessments.

Receive practical training designed for real-world success: Develop your skills in Loyalist's cutting-edge Bay of Quinte Skills Centre, working directly with vehicles and components in a secure learning space. Acquire hands-on experience with eco-friendly practices and business operations. Participate in unique events like the annual Show and Shine, Drive to Survive, holiday parades, Heels on Wheels, and the prestigious SEMA show in Las Vegas - where Loyalist's automotive program holds the distinction of being Canada's sole college participant in SEMA's student placement initiative for multiple consecutive years.
