As a doctoral candidate in the Boreal Ecology Program, you'll undertake ecological research focused on northern regions, encompassing the Boreal Shield and Boreal Forest Biome among other areas. Ecology here refers to examining how organisms interact with their surroundings. This curriculum introduces students to cutting-edge theories and techniques across diverse fields. Through independent research, faculty guidance, peer collaboration, and involvement in academic events and publishing, students cultivate essential analytical, critical thinking, and communication abilities.
