Canada's sole Bachelor of Arts in Sport Psychology stands unique in its offering.
Developed collaboratively with the Department of Psychology, this program exposes students to both theoretical and practical aspects of Sport Psychology while cultivating a cross-disciplinary comprehension of psychological influences on athletic performance and the psychological/physical impacts of sports participation. Beyond teaching psychological techniques for boosting performance and motivation, applied sport psychology encompasses assisting athletes, coaches, and parents with injury management, recovery processes, effective communication, team dynamics, and career changes. Whether pursuing roles as coaches, educators, wellness advisors, or sports researchers, graduates will find their program-acquired expertise highly applicable in professional environments. This degree serves as a foundation for further graduate studies in education or master's programs rather than being a final qualification.
A significant advantage is the program's compatibility with Concurrent Education, enabling students to earn their BA in four years and obtain both their teaching certification and Bachelor of Education upon completing their fifth academic year.
