This Bachelor of Arts program is offered through the Faculty of Arts and administered by the Interdisciplinary Studies Committee, which includes three faculty representatives from the Faculty of Arts Council. Students will craft their own customized curriculum with committee support. The committee assigns each student a supervisor to guide their 4000-level independent study project and provide academic advising. The committee approves each student's personalized course plan, conducts annual reviews, and implements adjustments as needed. Highly motivated, self-directed learners will benefit from a customized academic path that delivers meaningful and fulfilling educational experiences. The Interdisciplinary Studies Major spans four years, requiring students to choose three Arts disciplines plus an additional minor subject. During their final year, students complete a capstone project under faculty supervision, integrating concepts from their diverse studies. This culminating project may take the form of a research paper, literature analysis, or include creative components.
