Health Sciences is a broad discipline that integrates knowledge from multiple fields to enhance human health in all its dimensions. At Langara, the Health Sciences program emphasizes public health, a medical specialty investigating health disparities among populations while working to create and implement solutions that address health inequities at local, national, and global levels.
Our curriculum is grounded in epidemiology, the foundational science of public health. Epidemiology equips health professionals with methodologies to assess population health, formulate and test hypotheses, and design evidence-based interventions.
As an interdisciplinary field, Health Sciences opens doors to careers in scientific research, global health initiatives, or public policy, while also providing a pathway for advanced studies at the graduate level.
Upon fulfilling the diploma's general and specific requirements, graduates will be qualified to enter the third year of Simon Fraser University's Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program.
Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).
