In an era of growing global interconnectedness, where human actions increasingly impact ecosystems worldwide—often negatively—it's crucial to possess the awareness, expertise, and practical skills to tackle these challenges. Environmental comprehension, conservation, and restoration have become vital, expanding priorities in modern society. Langara College's Environmental Studies program, part of the Interdisciplinary Studies Department, integrates knowledge from four key disciplines: biology, chemistry, English, and geography, along with specialized environmental coursework. Students can select electives from diverse subjects to align with their individual interests. The program concludes its second year with an immersive one-week field school experience.
Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).
