The field of Health Sciences encompasses diverse disciplines to comprehensively study and enhance human wellbeing. Langara's Health Sciences program emphasizes public health, a medical specialty investigating health disparities across populations while designing solutions to address inequities at local, national, and global levels.
Our curriculum centers on epidemiology, public health's foundational science. This discipline equips professionals with methodologies to analyze community health patterns, formulate theories, conduct research, and create evidence-based interventions.
Addressing health determinants and implementing population-level improvements demands interdisciplinary collaboration between arts and sciences. Effective health scientists must also master communication techniques to transform complex research into clear, actionable knowledge for communities.
Students must have a BC Grade 12 Graduation (or equivalent).
