This program is ideal for individuals passionate about mechanical systems. Participants gain expertise in safely installing, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing various industrial mechanical equipment. The curriculum incorporates industry-standard methodologies. Key learning areas encompass: machining techniques, blueprint interpretation, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electronics, power transfer and lubrication systems, material properties, proactive maintenance strategies, project coordination, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), robotic systems, Computer Numerical Control (CNC), and three-dimensional modeling. The Millwright Mechanical Technician program holds accreditation from the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development as a cooperative education diploma. Completers fulfill both the Ontario Mechanical Technician standards and the classroom requirements for Industrial Millwright Apprenticeship. During the initial two semesters, academically qualified students may apply for available four-month cooperative work placements. Good standing requires passing all coursework with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Cooperative positions require application and successful interview selection. While the college actively recruits employer partners, it cannot assure placements for all participants.
