Psychologists aim to enhance human well-being by studying and shaping thoughts, feelings, and actions. They investigate our motivations, the environmental and biological influences on behavior, and what distinguishes each individual. Lakehead University's interdisciplinary Psychology program lets you examine these subjects and brain functions through either an Arts or Science pathway tailored to your academic goals. Regardless of your chosen path, you'll acquire analytical skills to formulate theories, conduct scientific tests, and generate insights using rigorous research techniques. What distinguishes our Psychology curriculum is its comprehensive scope - undergraduates complete coursework across all core areas: Biological, Cognitive-Affective, Individual, Social, Abnormal, and Developmental Psychology, alongside stream-specific electives.

Combine Psychology with complementary majors like Gerontology, Philosophy, Women's Studies, or Education to examine interdisciplinary connections. International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme applicants who achieve their diploma with a total score of at least 24 may be eligible for admission. Three Higher Level subjects must be completed. Prerequisite courses can be presented at either Standard Level or Higher Level. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. Some of our competitive programs may require a total score greater than 24.
Successful graduation from an academic secondary school program or equivalent (For most countries, the same academic preparation as is required for university entrance in that country is required for consideration. Refer to Admission Requirements by Country.)
