Our program focuses on hands-on field biology, offering numerous experiential learning options such as laboratory sessions and research internships. Annually, you can select electives from various Faculties to enhance your Biology studies, developing a comprehensive, interdisciplinary grasp of living organisms and ecosystems. Many Outdoor Recreation careers demand foundational biology expertise. This program provides that training while allowing you to pair a Natural Science degree with an Honours Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation.
The three-year Natural Science program, housed in the Biology Department, has no Chemistry or Mathematics prerequisites and features fewer theoretical courses than standard Biology programs. If you seek biological fundamentals without the "career-scientist" path, Natural Science is ideal. Upon finishing your Natural Science degree, you will: Grasp fundamental life system principles and biodiversity; Achieve strong biological literacy; Comprehend organisms' environmental roles and relationships; Develop refined critical thinking and reflective skills.
