Geography examines spatial distributions and Earth's surface processes, along with connections between human societies, populations, and natural systems. Our Geography curriculum emphasizes both physical geography - analyzing spatial characteristics of terrain, water systems, and atmospheric conditions - and human geography, investigating cultural, political, and economic factors influencing human activity patterns.
During initial coursework, Geography students establish fundamental knowledge across diverse geographical topics, exploring: Global population and activity distributions. Causes and timing of environmental transformations. Consequences for both natural systems and human communities. Potential adaptation strategies. Advanced studies allow specialization in areas such as: Climate systems, Glacial dynamics, Pedology, Ecological preservation, Disaster studies, Hydrological resources, Cultural geography. Our program showcases the discipline's diversity, incorporating technical skills like digital mapping, satellite imagery analysis, environmental sampling, and GIS applications. Students may participate in regional fieldwork programs or an optional International Field Study during their final academic year.
