Environmental studies is evolving into a more interdisciplinary field, incorporating socio-economic, cultural, and political factors alongside scientific research. Our Environmental Studies curriculum equips students with the knowledge to assess environmental problems and solutions from diverse viewpoints. You'll develop essential business acumen, scientific knowledge, and hands-on experience to address contemporary environmental and sustainability issues.
The Environmental Studies programs feature shared foundational courses along with specialized coursework in one of three majors: Biology, Earth Science, or Geography. Each program integrates both scientific and social science/humanities elements to provide comprehensive preparation for today's environmental concerns.
Geography majors can pursue either an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies or an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Science, based on their preference for science or social science electives. Students majoring in Geography or Biology may also opt to pair their Environmental Studies degree with a Concurrent Education degree for teaching qualifications at the Intermediate/Senior level.
